Brown v. Board of Education

So, apparently my phone isn’t allowing me to upload pictures to my computer anymore, so I apologize for the lack of media. However, if you happen to be passing by the wing anytime soon, make sure you check out the new bulletin board! This one is all about one of the most significant Supreme Court cases ever heard — Brown v. Board of Education. This landmark case finally allowed for the desegregation of public schools, an important milestone in our country’s history.

Chancellor Shields

Thank you to everyone who came out last Tuesday to visit with Chancellor Shields. We got to have some awesome conversation about education, careers, government, and, of course, puppies!

TEDTalk Tuesday

For those of you who didn’t make it, we had our second TEDTalk Tuesday this week! We watched a video about the “Power of Introverts” and another about a special project that utilized over 2,000 different YouTube videos of people from all over the world singing different parts of the same song, forming a sort of “virtual choir”. In all, I think we had some good discussion with everyone. Can’t wait to see you next week!

Duncan Diner

BTW: Thank you to everyone who came out to Duncan Diner last week! We really appreciated everyone who came. It was great getting to see all of you, and we are so thankful that we were able to raise so much money for Child’s Play!

TEDTalk Tuesday

Had a great time at this week’s first TEDTalk Tuesday! Thank you to everyone who came down to watch the videos and participate in discussion. We all had a lot of fun with both the video “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance” and “The Beauty – and Horror – Of the Ocean”.
